About
Meet Our Directors
"We believe that the daily exercise of conquering individual freedom is concomitant with increasing the freedom of what surrounds us. This is the binomial that delimits and defines the quality and ambition of what we are and what we desire: that others may become increasingly free."

Our Mission
CJGM, founded in 2002, is a contemporary creation company that researches artistic and creative development in performing arts, explored through theater. Its mission is to investigate the search for what it means to be human in each of us as individuals, and it is based on three structural axes: creation, publishing, and training including audience engagement.
These structural axes around which we move stand out for the importance of what they produce in interaction within the society we live in, contributing to the growth and improvement of individuals in the search for a project of humanity, shared through investment in creativity based on difference and the capacity to change the worlds we live in.
Our History & Reach
In an effort to disseminate our content, we make available records of our creations; original series and training programs. In Europe, it presents shows in Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Hungary, the Netherlands, and Romania. CJGM develops extensive work with Portuguese-speaking countries: Brazil - Assiduous presence of Brazilian artists in its resident cast in Portugal or in residence; and shows in São Paulo, as well as conducting training actions and masterclasses.
In 2023, it received support from IBERESCENA for the play "História do Coco" (History of Coconut) which in its evaluation emphasizes the importance that the project gives to oral tradition and aims to illustrate the passage from the observation of nature to formats of human behavior, overvaluing the relationship between the feminine and nature and its passage to the cycles of consciousness that transport us to the beginning of Theater.

It is in the context of this project that the partnership between CJGM and Palipalan Arte e Cultura is formalized. Structure & Ethos
CJGM is a structure continuously funded by the Government of Portugal; SEC; DGARTES under the Sustained Support Program, since 2002. New productions are the materialization of the company's desire and expression of will to meet others through art. The diversity of methods and approaches we use in creative processes promote journeys to interiority, emotional and corporeal, to places where the human and inhuman intersect.
CJGM also holds an editorial line focused on the publication of dramaturgical texts and documentary records with about 10 titles published. With an internal structure of 11 people on a permanent basis, as well as an extensive network of professionals, it is headquartered in Torres Vedras, at Espaço Arenes, a renovated industrial space, which offers a performance hall, various studios, classrooms as well as a residence space.
